The instructors are true heroes: Tom, Jakob, Dominique, Christophe and Louis. Yes, Louis is not only an administrative marvel, but also a master of the cockpit. Whether you're taking off for the first time or trying to land without it looking like an emergency, this dream team is ready to guide you through it all with the patience of a saint. Tom, our theory guru, knew how to turn every lesson into a party thanks to his endless supply of tall tales – from hilarious to almost unbelievable.

The back office is expertly run by Pierre-Louis, Louis and Frederick. These men are the superheroes who make sure everything runs smoothly. No question was too crazy and no problem too big; they just fix it.

What truly made this experience unique were my fellow students. It was a fantastic mix of people from all sorts of backgrounds – from entrepreneurs to world travellers. During the coffee breaks it sometimes felt as if we were taking part in an aviation version of a TV quiz show. Inspiring and hilarious!

But the very best thing about Toran? They listen. Always. If you're stressed because your landing looked more like a bouncing ball in a storm, you get an encouraging pat on the shoulder and a joke to cheer you up.
